A Trip to the Dentist

We are certainly experiencing the amazing goodness of the Lord in the land of the living and creating some great relationships within the community of Las Margaritas and surrounding areas!
Last year, we were invited to a birthday party, and Dr. Ofelia, a dentist from our church, overheard me explain the vision and mission of Reina’s Hope. At that time, we didn't yet have any girls on the property, other than Reina. But Dr. Ofelia quietly approached me and said she wanted to offer her services to take care of all of the dental care for each of our young ladies! Of course, I was shocked, and since I didn’t know her, I wasn’t sure if she was serious. Throughout this past year, we learned that Dr. Ofelia has a great reputation as a fantastic dentist with a 30-year practice, and she works extensively with young children!
I made the first appointment for Reina this past Monday for a full dental exam and assessment. Dr. Ofelia was so gentle, and she guided Reina with a step-by-step education all along the way. She is a Godsend and an angel for us! A few days later, we took young Flori in, who was petrified! Dr. Ofelia was, once again, so gentle and coached her into her chair for a much-needed cleaning.
Dr. Ofelia said God has blessed her, and she wants to be a blessing to us. We are in awe of the Lord’s provision for our sweet young girls! May the Lord abundantly bless Dr. Ofelia and her family for this incredible gift!
Another huge and sweet blessing this month…
Another huge blessing came this month, as the leaders of a young adult group from a local Presbyterian church approached us to use our property for their youth retreat again. Last year, they held their retreat on our property with over 250 young adults from various area churches. They asked and offered to do whatever was needed on the property. Michael quickly said we are currently refurbishing our community building, and it needs to be painted. They assembled an excellent painting team and did a fabulous job applying 25 gallons of paint in just two days!
They seemed to be having so much fun laughing and playing music while working hard. We love being a blessing to our community. There’s no doubt they will also be a strong blessing to our young ladies who aren’t accustomed to how a Christian community works and supports each other.
Thank you for holding us in prayer and support. We know we are being covered in prayer by you all. We can see the results on a daily basis! There is always more to do on the ranch, so plan to come on down and lend a hand! You'll be blessed while being a blessing!
