We’re Thankful for God-Given Connections

Hello Friend,

God is working at Reina’s Hope! And we want to share it all.

Since our Program Director, Estefania, came on board full time February 5th, it has been a whirlwind of meetings, strategy sessions, brainstorming, and a lot of hard but very productive work. To share all these amazing updates, it’s going to take a few minutes. But trust us… you are going to want to keep reading!

God-Given Connections:
Estefania (Estef) Moreno is a powerful, energetic force who is well-connected in the child protection and social services network. Her connections have already opened doors we would have never known to knock on, let alone be welcomed in. In every meeting she has initiated, we’ve not only been welcomed, but given encouragement and support.

Wednesday, February 7
Estef set a meeting for us with attorney Isabel Cruz. She is the legal director and decision maker over all children/dependents in the entire state of Chiapas with extensive knowledge of young girls coming out of the system. She told us she had dreamed of a place like Reina’s Hope for years, and even wrote out the plans for it but never had the opportunity to get it started. Isabel is willing to help in any way she can and looks forward to visiting the ranch next time she is in Comitan.

We also met with the Program Directors of DIF (Child Protective Services) of Tuxtla. They were blown away by the beauty and quality of what we're offering these vulnerable young ladies. They are excited about the prospect of directing young ladies toward the programs we offer!

Thursday, February 8
Our next meeting was with the President of DIF of Comitan. Again, we received a warm welcome, enthusiasm over our program, and the assurance that every single bed would be filled. There was even an opportunity for Reina to have an interview with their legal director and to spend the day “interning” later that week. This is an amazing experience for Reina that might lead to a job opportunity and even more connections!

Friday, February 9
Estef met with the District Attorney of Tuxtla to introduce Reina’s Hope. In Mexico, the District Attorney is over the department dealing with the underaged, abused, and abandoned.  We were, once again, well received, and he is setting up subsequent meetings for us and willing to work hand-in-hand with Reina's Hope  to cover any legal issues.

Monday, February 12
Estef and her sister, Dr. Monserat met with Las Margaritas Hospital's Clinical Director. Just the opportunity to find him at the hospital with available time to meet was a near-impossible feat! They introduced Reina’s Hope Project and the vulnerable population we serve who will need their services. The Director was able to help us understand the protocol to follow and the documents our young ladies would need. He even said that the hospital could offer free gynecological care, vaccinations, and multiple other services to our girls!

Dr. Monse and Estef then met with the Clinical Director of Centro de Salud (Hospital & Clinic). This would be our facility for non-routine medical attention. Once he understood our mission and that we were offering our services and facilities free to these young ladies, he also made his hospital and clinical staff available to us. This hospital will offer emergency care for the young ladies living at Aguas Sagradas ranch.

Thursday, February 15
Estef met with two of the local University directors to introduce our programs and establish a partnership with them for our residents. The Director is working on offering scholarships to our residents!

This is just scratching the surface. Meetings and connections continue to pour in every single day.  The word is getting out about Reina's Hope. Now Estef is getting calls from other facilities and departments requesting meetings and wanting to know how they can get involved to help us.

We've also received a list of candidates that meet our profile and are beginning the interviews and admissions process shortly!!

We are praising God for bringing Estefania to us and opening these doors to care for the young ladies who will soon find their home at Reina’s Hope. Thank you for praying, giving, and supporting us in a multitude of ways. We wouldn’t be here without you!
